MySecureChurch >> About Us

My Secure Church was founded by technology executive, Jason Olson from Silicon Valley in 2003 in response to the growing technology influence in the modern day church. With the core believe that with the proper use of technology, ministry can be enabled and enhanced. Not that technology is a panacea for ministry, nor do we believe that anyone will be directly brought to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, or even simply attend a church. We believe that the lack of, or misuse of technology may be a hindering block to people entering into the Christian Community.

Mr. Olson has been working with internet and computer technology since the mid 90's both directly in the church and with the church as a consultant to bring the latest in technology to the church. Not for technology's sake, but that we can leverage the tools currently available to make ministry easier.

One of the first tools developed was the VBS Registration System which was developed out of a personal frustration of manually managing the registration process of church events. The first opportunity to create this tool was while he was working with a church in San Jose to create an online registration process. Instead of using a simple electronic/online form to collect data, Jason created a complete database and management tool to collect and organize this information.

Additional tools have been create to permit church websites to contain up-to-date ministry and event information; always current. This tool was expanded to permit lay ministry leaders access to the databases used by church staff. Enabling ministry leaders controlled access to the database, such as current contact information of the congregation. No longer did ministry leaders need to manage sperate e-mail lists, but could leverage database technology and single-source data.

Later, as par of an investment to help his local church, he purchased a scalable, professional e-mail program. To assist ministries which lacked the budget or technical skill to bring e-mail to each staff member, this tool was released for free use to any non-profit ministry.

With the free e-mail application as a launching pad, and the successful sale of his consulting business in the Silicon Valley, Mr. Olson decided to invest in providing free tools to any Christian based non-profit. Today, this website is a realization of that investment.

MySecureChurch >> Today

Today we are serving over 2,000 churches nation wide with a wide range of services; from our stock applications to customized solutions. Over the past three years, over 95% of all consulting hours and design services have been provided at no cost, with the remainder 5% being significantly below market rate, and pre-arranged with each ministry.

We currently spend over $1,000 each month in the technology infrastructure, and over $5,000 each month in support technicians and maintenance. Our monthly equivalent consultant payroll is $8,000. And while over 50% of these costs are deeply discounted through programs and donations, the balance is provided by the filanthropy of the founder. As part of our commitment to the local church, we do not accept any form of advertising or other marketing.

MySecureChurch >> Future

We keep looking forward, opening new doors to explore what else there is. We're curious in nature. To this end, we keep expanding our technical staff and our ability to innovate new products and offerings.

Financially, we are looking to organize as a 501(c)(3) non-profit to increase the financial leverage we have with our existing finances.
